Introduction

Kush Maini, driving for DAMS Lucas Oil, led from pole to finish in the prestigious Monte Carlo Sprint Race—one of the most iconic venues in motorsport. Race Recap – As It Happened
Maini got a flawless launch off the line, while Luke Browning dropped to P5. This allowed fellow Alpine Academy driver Gabriele Minì of PREMA Racing to jump into second place. The early laps were high on drama, with Arvid Lindblad of Campos Racing making contact while attempting an aggressive move for P3. Though he emerged in third, a 10-second penalty for the collision later dropped him to P8.
Minì kept the pressure on Maini, staying within DRS range for much of the first half. But a Safety Car on Lap 12, caused by an incident involving Joshua Duerksen and Oliver Goethe, briefly neutralized the race.
When racing resumed, Maini managed to escape DRS and maintain composure under pressure. In the closing stages, Lindblad tried to build a buffer to offset his penalty, but Browning closed in again, inheriting third after the penalty was applied.

Despite immense pressure from Minì behind, Maini remained composed. “I was struggling with front locking and brake balance, but the focus was to be consistent and mistake-free.”

Maini starts from P10 in the upcoming Feature Race. Known for its overtaking challenges, Monte Carlo might still hold more surprises. “Anything can happen in F2,” he said. “Tomorrow the goal is more points.”
